Abstract Guidelines & Requirements
Dates to Remember
- November 1, 2024: Submission deadline
- Early January, 2025: Notification of acceptance
- June 24-26, 2025: Symposium dates
Important Notes
- Registering/Submitting an abstract is not the same as registering for the symposium. If you are selected to present at least one author must register to present.
- When submitting your abstract only add one presenter per abstract.
- Abstracts will only be rated on information provided, so please complete your submission carefully.
Requirements
The following information is required during the submission process
- Title: 250 Characters max
- Abstract Presenter: Add only one presenter per abstract.
- Abstract: 250 Words max
- Additional Authors: For each author you will need to provide their name and institution. It is important to list the authors how you would like them to appear in the abstract book.
- Presentation Preference: You may choose to have your abstract reviewed for poster presentation, oral presentation, or reviewed for both.
Please note: if you have submitted your abstract for oral presentation only, it will not be considered for poster presentation. - Abstract Categories: You must choose at least one category that your abstract will be reviewed for
- Diagnostics, vaccination, or other mitigation strategies for poultry and wildlife
- Notable outbreaks, field and molecular epidemiology, and surveillance in poultry
- Notable outbreaks, field and molecular epidemiology, and surveillance in wild birds
- Biosecurity, mitigation, control, and post-epidemic considerations in poultry
- Mortality estimations, impacts on harvest, conservation considerations, and potential mitigation strategies in wild birds
- Avian influenza in mammals, pandemic preparedness, and one health
- Transmission pathways, pathobiology, immune responses
- Late breaking
Changing or Updating Abstracts
You can make edits via your submission dashboard until the submission period closes on November 1, 2024. Simply sign into your account using your email address and password. Changes will not be possible after the submission period closes and the review process begins.
Poster Dimensions
The maximum size for poster presentations is 36"x36".
Review Process
The abstract review committee will do a review of submitted abstracts. At least two reviewers will grade each abstracts. Ties will decided by the committee chair.
Notification of acceptance or rejection will be sent to all authors in early January, 2025. A subset of abstracts will be selected for oral presentation; all others will be accepted as posters.
