Speaker Bio
Katie is the WAGE Project Coordinator, working to scale the Who Do You Tell? program across Alberta. This initiative brings evidence-based child sexual abuse prevention into communities, giving educators and facilitators the tools they need to create safer environments for kids. She has experience in program development, collective impact, and violence prevention, and has worked on a variety of initiatives that focus on education, collaboration, and systemic change. Over the years, she’s coordinated large-scale events, facilitated strategic discussions, and helped develop prevention frameworks to support safer communities. At the heart of her work is a commitment to making spaces where children and families can truly thrive. Katie lives in Calgary, Alberta, on Treaty 7 territory, the traditional lands of the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Kainai, and Piikani), the Tsuut’ina, and the Îyâxe Nakoda Nations. Calgary is also known by its traditional Blackfoot name, Moh’kins’tsis. She’s grateful to live and work on this land and is always looking for ways to support reconciliation and meaningful community connections. Outside of work, Katie loves playing guitar and piano, exploring the outdoors, and finding new hiking trails. In the summer, you might spot her out on the disc golf course. At home, she’s kept on her toes by three mischievous cats—Molly, George, and Arthur—who make sure life is never boring.
