Mohamed Elsaghir is the Executive Director of C5, bringing over 20 years of experience in the non-profit sector. Prior to joining C5, he spent seven years at the Newcomer Centre, working his way up from career practitioner to leadership roles. In 2017, Mohamed became Manager of the C5 Hub, advancing to Director in 2021, and taking on the role of Executive Director in January 2025.

Originally from Alexandria, Egypt, and raised in Edmonton, Mohamed holds a degree in sociology from the University of Alberta, graduating in 2008. Throughout his career, he has been passionate about helping people, especially newcomers, achieve their goals by providing support, resources, and opportunities. His work is centered on fostering inclusion, empowerment, and creating lasting community impact.

Happily married, Mohamed is the proud father of two children, aged 12 and 11. He values spending quality time with his family, whether it's enjoying sports together, exploring the outdoors, or simply sharing everyday moments. Mohamed believes in the importance of family, and his kids are a constant source of inspiration in both his personal and professional life. Passionate about sports and community development, he is committed to building a strong foundation for the city's growth and making a positive, lasting difference in the world.
