Laurie completed her education at Mount Royal University and for nearly 40 years has been involved with the non-profit sector across Canada. Most of her earlier work centred on supporting adults with mental health challenges. Over the past 30 years her focus has been on working with vulnerable children and families.
In 2005, she joined Norwood Child and Family Resource Centre, one of five agencies that make up the C5 Collaboration, and has filled the roles of Family Support Manager, Program Director, and for the past several years, in her current position, as Executive Director.
Laurie continues to focus her strengths on supporting and advocating tirelessly for children and families. She works within a participatory leadership model with Norwood Centre staff, community members, businesses, partners, and funders to harness the power of collaboration for positive community change.
