Shannon has been committed to building the capacity of communities for more years than she cares to admit. She takes a comprehensive approach to nurture excellence and expansion in all areas of human and community development. Her grassroots approach when assisting both individuals and communities address their challenges, has taken her on a journey to various Human Services leadership roles. Adult Learning and Literacy, Indigenous Programs, Employment Services, Housing, Emergency Social Services, Home Care and of course FCSS are all part of her portfolio. She has lead her Home Care Team through three accreditation processes and have consistently received Accreditation with Exemplary Standing.
Shannon has been the E.D. of Ponoka FCSS since 2012 and previously worked as a Social Planner for Red Deer County within FCSS.
She calls Central Alberta home and proudly was raised and chose to raise her sons as a single parent in a rural setting. Her personal life consists of travel, hobby farming, education, family, friends, and fun!
Shannon holds a Business Administration Diploma, a Bachelors in Administration of Human Service and will complete a Masters in Work, Organization and Leadership as well as Community Studies in December 2023.
