Sue Bornn is a University of Alberta graduate with over 20 years of municipal experience. Sue’s first FCSS involvement took place in her mid teens when she and a friend applied to the local board for $300 to outfit a little red wagon with children’s activity supplies to operate a summer play program in her rural community. Her current role as the FCSS Manager, since 2013, is within the Town of Blackfalds Community Services Department. Supported through the Blackfalds and District FCSS Board, advisory to Council, Sue leads a team of 4 staff members to offer support services, and social prevention programs as well as provide information and referral services to the community. The Blackfalds FCSS Board provides recommendations regarding programming, policy development, volunteer recognition, budgeting, partnering opportunities, and funding for other social prevention programming providers to Town Council.
