Matt is an Associate Principal and Project Director in Arup's Toronto office, leading the Higher Education Business in Canada . Matt brings a depth of experience from his 20 plus year career coordinating integrated design teams focused on delivering solutions and realizing the client’s vision for success. Matt thrives in a collaborative, creative environment.

Matt has a strong background in sustainability, having worked with several healthcare and mixed-use campuses to develop long-term energy and water management strategies, guided mechanical design to achieve LEED® energy savings and certification goals, and identifying and implementing energy conservation measures in existing buildings retrofits. As a structural engineer he is focused on innovative approaches to minimizing the embodied carbon in buildings. He currently leads Arup's collaboration with researchers at major Canadian Universities investigating new approaches to design and construct resilient, efficient structures with minimum impact on our planet.
