Lisa King is senior policy planner in the City of Toronto’s Planning Division. She has been central in leading the establishment of Toronto's Zero Emissions Buildings Framework and the Toronto Green Standard. She has led several research studies that established embodied carbon caps for new construction for which the City of Toronto received the 2023 Ontario Embodied Carbon Award from the Carbon Leadership Forum. Lisa has worked tirelessly in both the private and public sectors to advance ecosystems protection, climate resilience and sustainable planning. She completed her graduate work in Environmental Studies at Antioch University Midwest, in the U.S. and has an undergraduate degree from Western University in Ontario.
