Hamid Hooshangi is a Senior Advisor, Energy Modeling team in WSP Canada’s Climate Change, Resilience and Sustainability team with 10 years of experience in the field of building energy modeling, measurement and verification, the feasibility of renewable energies, energy benchmarking, LCCA, retro-commissioning of HVAC systems and energy auditing. He has contributed to over 55 deep energy retrofits and new construction projects. Hamid specializes in energy modeling for building decarbonization through deep energy retrofits and fuel-switching. He has extensive experience in early-stage parametric analysis as well as high-performance new constructions targeting CaGBC ZCB, BC Step Code, Passive House, Zero Carbon Building, TGS and NECB (2011, 2015, 2017 and 2020). Hamid has worked on a large variety of building types including affordable housing, recreation centers, offices, high-end condos, schools and industrial buildings. His role as project principal on many of these projects involved leading design team workshops, presenting to design review panels, managing stakeholders and guiding technical staff through design reviews and project management tasks.
