Date

Description

Rural communities across Alberta are facing growing pressures related to housing, homelessness, and fostering safe and inclusive communities. Addressing these challenges requires approaches grounded in community relationships, tailored to rural realities, and built in partnership with local organizations such as FCSS. The Rural Development Network (RDN) works alongside communities across the province to strengthen local capacity, support collaborative planning, and develop tools and resources that help communities respond to complex social challenges. In this session, RDN will reflect on our approach to community engagement and partnership building, sharing lessons learned through our work with rural, remote, and Indigenous communities. Participants will learn about funding opportunities, resources, and programs that support local capacity building to address housing, homelessness and community safety and well-being. We will also highlight how RDN partners with FCSS and other local organizations to support community-led solutions.
