WiseGuyz is a healthy relationship, life skills and violence prevention program for young men. This award-winning program of the Centre for Sexuality is the only evidence informed, promising practice of its kind. Since 2018 the Centre has been working to scale this program to communities across the country. This session will explore what WiseGuyz is, what makes it impactful and how our innovative scaling strategy and strong training and support model has allowed us to bring WiseGuyz to diverse communities across Canada. Attendees will learn about the approaches that have supported the impact of the Wiseguyz program in working with young men for over a decade. Additionally, they will learn how an impactful prevention program can be scaled to other communities, in a way that maintains fidelity and impact while also adapting to specific contexts and needs of communities. Participants will leave with practical tools for engaging men and boys in a constructive and compassionate way and lessons learned from successfully scaling a comprehensive program to diverse communities.
