Artificial intelligence and emerging digital tools are rapidly changing how organizations operate, make decisions, and manage risk. Many FCSS programs and community organizations are already using AI—often informally or without clear policy, governance, or training.
This session explores how AI is quietly entering workplaces through tools such as ChatGPT, grant-writing assistants, automated reporting tools, and data analysis platforms. While these tools offer powerful opportunities to reduce administrative workload and improve program delivery, they also introduce new considerations for leadership, including governance, privacy, accuracy, and organizational readiness.

Participants will gain a practical overview of how AI is currently being used across municipal and non-profit environments, what boards and management teams should be thinking about now, and how organizations can begin building simple guardrails to use these tools responsibly.

This session focuses on practical leadership awareness rather than technical expertise, helping FCSS leaders navigate emerging technologies while maintaining strong governance and accountability.
