Megan Strickfaden is an internationally recognized scholar whose work bridges anthropology, design, and complex problem-solving. Born in New York and raised in the Netherlands and Canada, she developed a passion for design through global cultural experiences. Her academic background includes degrees in Industrial/Engineering Design and Cultural Anthropology (Canada), Sustainable Design Practice (Canada), Design Research (Denmark), and a PhD in Sociocultural Influences on Design (Scotland). Her research focuses on the intersection of design and sociocultural factors, particularly disability, influencing the design process. She has worked on numerous global research projects, published over 56 peer-reviewed works, delivered more than 100 conference presentations, and contributed to 90+ creative scholarly projects, including films, exhibitions, and product designs. With a career spanning multiple continents, Megan continues to push the boundaries of inclusive and sustainable design.
