Ash Ronnell is a social scientist who works to bring social policy to life in public service delivery. A graduate of the University of Washington's Integrated Social Sciences program, Ash integrates theories of social construction, social networks, and social movements into their approach to strategy and policy work. Their goal is to make these big ideas accessible and relevant to everyone. Ash is a collaborator and co-conspirator, taking a multi-disciplinary approach to complex social problems by busting through departmental silos to understand barriers and co-create solutions. They currently work as an Issue Strategist with The City of Calgary's Equity Program and are focused on actioning the results of the organizational maturity assessment on equity in service delivery. This supports municipal services to adhere to Calgary's Social Wellbeing Policy. In their free time, Ash likes to ride their bicycle, try to grow food in their little inner-city back yard, and nerd-out on social issues by reading, writing, and talking with friends. They are the kind of person who loves a deep and philosophical conversation, and approaches the world with curiosity and gusto.
