Francisca completed her bachelor and MSc in Biochemistry at the University of Chile in Santiago, Chile. Currently, she is a Ph.D. student at the University of Alberta in the Department of Medical Microbiology & Immunology. Her thesis studies how to improve the oncolytic potency of wild type reovirus by introducing mutations to the virus. Francisca evaluates the oncolytic potential of the mutants in murine models of breast cancer.
