Takahiro earned his Ph.D. in 2016 at Osaka University, where he studied the molecular mechanisms of cell attachment of bat-borne reovirus. He conducted postdoctoral training focused on establishing reverse genetics for human rotavirus at Osaka University. In 2019, Takahiro joined the department of Microbiology and Immunology at Stanford University. He is studying the molecular mechanisms of rotavirus entry, pathogenesis, and immune response to rotavirus infection.
