Gabriela is a molecular virologist at Mal de Río Cuarto´s lab, at the Agrobiotechnology and Molecular Biology Institute (IABIMO), from the National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA). She completed my Ph.D. in 2015, where she studied the molecular interactions between the viroplasm components of the plant reovirus Mal de Río Cuarto virus (MRCV) and its hosts. Then my postdoctoral training focused on developing nanobody-based biotechnological tools for MRCV diagnosis and disease control. Gabriela currently holds a position at INTA, and her research aims to unravel the structure and molecular mechanisms of viroplasm maturation. She is also interested in identifying plant genes involved in MRCV infection that could be of biotechnological interest in crop improvement.
