Session Information
Reducing the carbon embodied in our built environment is a critical mission for Canada’s construction sector over the coming decades. However, in the construction industry, where cost is king and supply chain certainty is paramount, significant knowledge gaps still exist around the cost and availability of lower-carbon materials.
Clean Energy Canada, Chandos Construction and Half Climate Designs, in collaboration with the federal government, are researching ways to reduce the embodied carbon in buildings with low-emissions materials and optimized designs. By identifying lower-emissions materials, they analyze the cost implications for nine buildings across three provinces. Learn how it’s possible to reduce embodied carbon cost-efficiently in this practical session.
