Learn how to use data to prioritize and plan asset-level actions to reduce transition and climate risk.
Session Information
Real estate asset and portfolio managers face complex market conditions for decision making – the high cost of capital, tenant’s evolving needs post-pandemic, and investors interest in managing climate-related risks. This session will help asset and portfolio managers identify the right questions to ask, at the right times, using the right data to understand and act on asset-level physical and transition risks.
We will use case study examples from two Canadian real estate firms to focus on decarbonization and resilience planning at various scales (building system, asset, and portfolio) and the decisions or actions that each scale can inform. We will also speak to the opportunities associated with planning for resilience and decarbonization in parallel.
