Chris Gardner has led the Independent Contractors and Businesses Association (“ICBA”) since 2017, managing the platform through an exciting period of change and growth. Under his leadership ICBA now has more than 150,000 people on one of its health and dental plans, over 4,000 members and clients, more than 60 employees working in offices in Calgary, Prince George and Surrey. ICBA won the Washington, DC-based Reed Award as North America’s best trade association in both 2019 and 2021. Before joining ICBA, he was a senior executive at two of the largest modular construction and workforce accommodation companies in North America and served as principal secretary to the 35th Premier of British Columbia, the Hon. Christy Clark. Chris has been on BIV's list of the500 most influential British Columbians for the past two years and on Vancouver Magazine's Power 50 list in 4 of the past 8 years. Chris has a Juris Doctor in law from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at UBC and a Bachelor of Arts from SFU.
