Menasha has an extensive background working with police agencies in her career with the Government of Alberta. She previously worked in children’s services with Edmonton Police Service for 20 years (front line and training unit). After working in front line, she moved over to Alberta Justice and Solicitor General (now called Public Safety and Emergency Services) with Public Security Division for 15 years where she lead the development of the Priority Prolific Offender Program and Integrated Offender Management, working on program development, policy and legislation eventually retiring and taking on a new challenge. Taking her wealth of knowledge and passion to serve communities, she joined the Alberta RCMP as the Director of Community Engagement and Outreach which oversees units such as Victims Services, Youth Support Services, community liaisons, crime prevention, housing strategies to name a few. Her current role is the first of its kind within the RCMP and plays an important role in bridging gaps between law enforcement and community services and resources. Members of the unit work to address the complex needs of communities through a systems approach to address the cycle of crime, and ensure victims have access to the appropriate supports.
