Dan is the General Manager of Planning and Community Services for the Town of Bonnyville and spent 31 years in the Fire Service, finishing up as the Regional Fire Chief for the Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority. As a PTSD survivor, Dan is heavily invested in the mental health of frontline workers, and was instrumental in the development of a robust mental health program for the BRFA. An ethical, collaborative leader with an eye for team building, Dan has received the Alberta Emergency Services medal, the Fire Services Exemplary Service medal and the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee medal for outstanding contributions to the Province of Alberta. Although he says he can speak about frontline worker mental health for hours, he promises to keep his presentation within the timelines.
