Jessie Heisler, BSc (She/Her) is a passionate advocate for comprehensive education and collaboration as a means to prevent sexual violence and foster safe and supportive communities. Jessie has been responding to disclosures of sexual trauma since 2018, while volunteering at a Women’s Centre. She
moved into the sexual violence sector starting as a front-line staff in 2022, where she received experience in facilitation and survivor-centric support services. She is now the Prevention and Community Engagement Manager at Dragonfly Centre Sexual Violence Services in Bonnyville, Alberta, and has discussed and presented topics related to gender-based violence for the last 2 years.
Jessie is a firm believer in rights-based and trauma-informed education, being the best form of prevention and the best advocate for survivors. She is currently enrolled in her Master of Public Health from the University of Waterloo to increase access to trauma and violence informed information for children, youth, individuals, and professionals of rural, remote, and northern communities of Alberta.
