Misty was born and raised in the Special Areas of the Alberta Prairies on a cattle ranch. Growing up in a small community, related to at least 35% of the population, and dealing with cattle, provided the ideal push into Mental Health. For over 15 years, Misty worked for the Mental Health Capacity Building in Schools Initiative in Addiction and Mental Health promotion and prevention. After years of teaching others to take care of their Mental Health, she realized it was time for her to do the same, packed up her 9 year old son and moved to Central Alberta to work for FCSS.
Now working as the Operations Manager for Rimbey FCSS, she continues work in prevention on a larger scale, while learning all about seniors. Her hope is to continue the amazing work of Rimbey FCSS and looks forward to a new beginning for her family.
