Dr. Trushar Patel is an associate professor and Canada Research Chair in RNA in Protein Biophysics at the University of Lethbridge. His lab employs interdisciplinary tools to gain insights into how viral nucleic acids interact with human proteins and to understand the structural features of non-coding RNAs. Dr. Patel has published >90 peer-reviewed articles in major international journals and 35 editorials/proceedings. Additionally, he actively engages in science policy and communication activities. His significant recognitions include the New Investigator Award from the Canadian Society for Molecular Biosciences, the Young Investigator Award from the Biophysical Society of Canada, the University of Lethbridge Volunteer of the Year award, the University of Lethbridge Research award, and the Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Medal. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology.
