Karen Jalon is the Vice President of Climate & Sustainability at Cadillac Fairview. With 20 years of dedicated leadership in the field, she is an award-winning pioneer in sustainability. Karen possesses a deep expertise in international sustainability standards, global benchmarks, and the strategic development and execution of innovative projects within complex corporate environments. A trailblazer in establishing Green Building standards, Karen has led the design and construction of some of the nation’s first LEED-certified projects and is instrumental in driving the company’s approach to sustainability, decarbonization, and energy management. She serves on numerous influential committees that shape the sustainability standards for the global commercial real estate industry. Prior to her role at Cadillac Fairview, Karen held positions in electrical design, commercial real estate development and construction, and sustainability policy development. She holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering from Queen’s University and is a LEED Accredited Professional.
