With over 17 years of experience in implementing a range of sustainability programs in both non-profit and for-profit organizations, Melissa has dedicated her career to improving sustainability practices and reducing climate impact in the built environment. In her current role as Vice President, ESG at First Capital Real Estate Investment Trust (FCR), she provides leadership in the development and implementation of the Company’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategies and initiatives nationally. Prior to FCR, Melissa gained experience in her roles at Bentall GreenOak, Sears Canada, and the World Green Building Council.

On a personal level, as a mom of two, she is passionate about doing what she can to leave the world a better place for her children and minimize the impacts that climate change will have on future generations.
