Joël is a senior architect with 30 years of professional experience. Bachelor of Laval University, he started his career in Toronto and in 2002 moved to Montreal. His architectural expertise and association with the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) have given him extensive experience in the green building sector. This involvement led him to participate in the founding of the Quebec Section of the CaGBC, for which he was president in 2006-2007. He was subsequently invited to serve as director of the CaGBC from 2008 to 2009. He has also served on numerous committees and was an active member of the USGBC LEED Advisory Committee from 2013 to 2017. Since 2013, he has been a member of the Materials and Resources Technical Committee of the CAGBC (MR-TAG).

After 15 years as a consultant in Montreal, Joel made a career change and went on to works as an architect for the city of Montreal as part of the Real Estate Management and Planning Service in the Ecological Transition & Innovation Division.
