As VP and Head of ESG, Tonya leads both our ESG and Sustainability Service Practice within Real Estate Management Services, as well as Colliers Canada’s corporate Sustainability, Inclusion and Social Impact efforts in alignment with our global priorities as the Chair of our ESG Executive Steering Committee.

Drawing on her 20+ years of expertise in sustainability and industry experience within commercial real estate, property management, consulting, and retail, Tonya leads a team of experts to develop and integrate tailored action plans and strategies that drive performance against the material sustainability issues impacting owners, operators and occupiers of commercial real estate assets.

Tonya is laser-focused on applying innovative solutions that are both meaningful and measurable to ensure our clients’ properties remain viable long-term investments. Working collaboratively with our clients to elevate their ESG performance with a focus on reducing operational emissions and energy related costs, enhancing occupant experience, and improving urban vibrancy and asset resilience.

Her expert commentary and thought leadership as a woman in commercial real estate has been featured in The Globe and Mail, STOREYS, and SustainableBiz and she is a frequently requested expert panelist, with recent contributions to the Canadian Real Estate Forum, CAGBC Conference, KPMG Canada’s Sustainability Forum and many others.

An active volunteer, over the years Tonya has shared her time and knowledge as an NPO board director, an advisor for post-graduate sustainability certification programs, and a contributor to ECO Canada professional designation standards.
