Name
The Responsible Buildings Pact: Cross-Industry Collaborations to Accelerate Net Zero
Date
Wednesday, June 5, 2024
Time
3:45 PM - 5:00 PM
Description

Individual companies will only achieve their climate ambitions if their clients, partners, and suppliers also support the transition. In short, as an industry, we’re all in this together.

This breakout session will discuss the Responsible Buildings Pact, an emerging cross-industry agreement open to any developers, consultants, or contractors, focused on ensuring the consistent consideration and use of lower-carbon materials where it makes sense and building shared accountability across projects to reduce the embodied carbon of buildings. The pilot year for the Pact will be 2024, focused on concrete and a limited number of materials.

The Pact is being sponsored and spearheaded by the Climate Smart Buildings Alliance, a joint initiative of RBC, EllisDon, Mattamy Homes, and Atkins Realis, and has been developed by a diverse working group of over 20 organizations from across the building value chain.

At this session, attendees will learn about what the Pact is trying to achieve and how their organization can get involved. They will also hear from industry leaders about how they are using the Pact and other collective industry strategies to advance the individual ESG goals of their organization.
