Elgin Pecjak (he/him) is a Ph.D. (c) in the Institute of Feminist and Gender Studies at the University of Ottawa. Elgin prides his work as a queer, transgender researcher working at the intersections of gender, reproductive justice, and policy. His dissertation investigates desires for biogenetic parenthood among AFAB transgender and gender-diverse individuals living in Ontario. Elgin is beginning a new position as a Project Manager with Rainbow Health Ontario. Elgin also serves as a new member of the Board of Directors for Trans Care+. His background includes community-based research projects surrounding reproductive justice, sexual health, and menstrual equity. Elgin’s upcoming publications include work surrounding menstrual equity among transgender and gender-diverse individuals, reproductive technology use in Canada and sterilization, and queer and trans parenthood. Outside of the academic world, Elgin enjoys collecting rocks and minerals, knitting, and jellyfish.
