Hayley has been involved in the menstrual equity space since 2018 when she began advocating for the provision of free menstrual products at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, ON. Since last year, Hayley has served as the Co-Director of Monthly Dignity–a Montreal-based non-profit that works to address period poverty in the city through the distribution of free menstrual products to nearly 2 dozen community organizations, the provision of educational workshops, and advocacy at multiple levels of government. She recently finished completed her studies at McGill University, earning an MA in Political Science and International Development and conducting her thesis on menstrual equity activism in Canada, with a focus on the importance of localization and bottom-up program planning. In addition to this work, Hayley is a Project Coordinator with Free Periods Canada, serves as a Research Assistant on reproductive justice in the context of pregnancy loss, and as the Research Coordinator for the national Research Network on Women, Peace, and Security, where she previously worked for two years doing research on the intersections of gender, conflict, and climate change.
